Tesla just released this promotional video showing glimpses of its factory, the former NUMMI plant in Fremont, CA. Tesla is partialy owned by Toyota.

Isn’t this much, much more automated than Toyota’s factories? I se they use robots for placing the windshield, the seats, etc.
And aren’t they slower than Toyota? They take 3-5 days to complete the cycle, while Toyota generally only takes about 1 day (26 hours in their Guangzhou factory, for example).
I’d be curious to know what Toyota engineers think of this 🙂
