5S – More than just Organization

David M. Kasprzak has a different way of saying that 5S is part of the plant’s information system, but I agree.
“If you are only doing 5S to be organized, then, you are doing the right thing – but for the wrong reasons. The point is that you have to embrace visual management.”

Thanks for pinging my blog, Michel. I find that there’s a lot from Lean that can be applied to many other aspects of business performance, or even just personal life. I’ve written a few other posts about it, and even had the comments I wrote for an HBR article published in the magazine expressing my belief that Lean is really a philosophy of human nature.
The principles of 5S and visual management are remarkably powerful, given that humility and respect are maintained. Otherwise, it has the affect of making people feel threatened and exposed.

When someone writes an paragraph he/she keeps the plan of a
user in his/her brain that how a user can understand it.
